Hello, everyone!

My name is Katie Williams, and I’m a 4th-grade teacher at Pinedale Elementary in Pinedale, Wyoming. I’m excited to be part of my 9th year as the LEAD Teacher for The Pedigree Stage Stop Dog Sled Race! This event is an incredible opportunity to bring learning to life, and I can’t wait to get students involved in the world of dog sled racing through hands-on experiences and education.

Why I Love This Race
Teaching is my passion, and I believe that learning should be exciting, engaging, and full of adventure. Dog sled racing is an amazing sport that teaches lessons in teamwork, perseverance, and the bond between mushers and their dogs. Through this program, students get a front-row seat to all the action, learning about the sport, the history, and the incredible athletes—both human and canine—who make it all happen.

A Little About Me
I grew up in Lander, Wyoming, and have always loved the outdoors. I’m married and have two wonderful children, ages 12 and 15. When I’m not teaching or working with the race, I enjoy spending time exploring Wyoming’s beautiful landscapes, just like the sled dogs do.

Get Involved
I’m looking forward to scheduling field trips and sharing educational materials to help bring this race into classrooms and homes. If you’re interested in learning more, feel free to contact me at essrteacher@gmail.com or visit Stage Stop Education for more information and resources.

I can’t wait to share this incredible journey with all of you. Let’s make this year’s race the most exciting one yet!
