Hi race fans!! As expected, today was a wild and windy day on South Pass as we raced in the 5th leg of the race. South Pass is about 38 miles from Lander. Check out the link below to find out why South Pass is so important to Wyoming history.

As the racers arrived to the trailhead they looked eager to head out on the trail. Each morning the racers begin to arrive at the staging area between 6:30-8:00 am. This year we have a few mushers that are camping at the trailhead which is handy for mushers to prepare for the day's race.

Today's leg was 30 miles through the trees on what was soft and slower snow. As the racers began to prepare to head out on the trail the snow began to pickup. Snow adds another interesting element to the racers time out on the trail. Our top 3 racers today were Anny Malo, Erick Laforce, and JR Anderson. Anny had the fastest time today, completing the 30 mile stage in 1:55.42! She will keep the yellow bib!

We have just two stages left in the 2021 Pedigree Stage Stop and anything can happen. Tomorrow is a well deserved rest day for the mushers and crew. They will take the day to pamper their dogs, rest, and prepare for the last two stages.

Check back on Friday for the result of Stage 6 in Driggs, Wyoming!!
