Good evening race fans. Today we raced 34 miles at the Middle Piney Trailhead about 20 miles from town. Today's trail was hard packed snow. When we arrived at the trailhead it was -1 but warmed up quickly as soon as the sun came up.
Today we were joined by the Big Piney and LaBarge 3rd and 4th grade students. These students arrived just as we began sending teams on the trail. They did an excellent job counting down and sending the teams off. After all teams had departed, the students went on a tour of the staging area, had a short presentation with a local Game and Fish Officer, and enjoyed a cup of hot chocolate. They stayed long enough to see a few of the mushers return from the trail.
Below are the result of today's race. As you can see, Anny Malo will continue to wear the yellow bib for day number 4. She is followed by her sister-in-law, Cathy Rivest. Lina Streeper came in a solid 3rd place.
Tomorrow we race in Kemmerer, Wyoming. Check back tomorrow night to see how your favorite musher did!
