Stage 8: Driggs, Idaho
Hello race fans. Today we spent the day in Driggs, Idaho. We love the views of the back side of the Tetons that we get each year. Unfortunately there was some cloud cover but we were surrounded by some beautiful scenery. We were joined by a large crowd of local Stage Stop fans. They did a great job cheering teams out.

Michael Tetzner returning from the trail.

Today’s leg was 28 miles through trees with some considerable climbs. Mushers and dogs were anxious to hit the trail. I spent the morning at the starting line watching the mushers depart. I sometimes forget that this is a race. The mushers and handlers are always willing to lend a helping hand to each other. Mushers are some of the best kinds of people.

After the mushers all crossed the finish line, the timers crunched the numbers and declared Anny Malo the winner!!
This is the 5th year in a row that she has won the race. She was followed in second by Alix Crittenden and a close third by Cathy Rivest. Below are the results of today’s race and the overall times. How did your favorite musher do?

Thank you for following this year’s race! See you in 2024!
