Stage 6: Driggs, Idaho
Hello race fans! Today mushers raced Driggs, Idaho. This morning when we headed to the race, we had 8 inches of new snow on our pickup and it continued to snow throughout the day. Racers and dogs looked well rested after their travel day off.
Racers preparing for the day early this morning.
As racers begin the race they have a large climb up the hill. Many of the racers peddled or ran up the hill with their dogs. It made me tired just watching but those dogs made it look easy.
We were joined by Driggs Elementary School 2nd and 3rd grade students and Swan Valley Elementary 4th and 5th grade students. They had a chance to visit with mushers, handlers, and tour the staging area. The musher enjoyed being cheered on as they came through today's finish line.
Anny had the fastest time in todays 35 mile leg. She will wear the yellow bib for tomorrow's final stage. One stage left to go and we will have a winner of the 25th running of the Pedigree Stage Stop. Check back tomorrow for the final results of the Teton County Stage at beautiful Slide Lake!
